I just started doing rewritings to my boss from ingles to portuguese. is it ok to use online translators ?

cause what i plan to do is after using the online translators reread and make the arrangement in order for the text to make sense.

has anyone done a work this way considering that these are official texts?

people who do reviews for example? do they use online translators since they do many reviews in diferent lunguages??I just started doing rewritings to my boss from ingles to portuguese. is it ok to use online translators ?
don't do it. online translator give you sentences that don't make sense and you can't really fix it, putting in a way that it makes sense. you'll get a text that has nothing to do to the original
Dear Tsangano,

Online translation programs are only good at translating words. Even then they frequently fail to translate important words, leaving words in the original language. They do not usually produce correct sentences although more often than not are understandable. If you are only looking for the meaning of a text they are a good place to start. However if the text is official and the precise meaning is very important I would not trust the machine generated translation.

Take care.I just started doing rewritings to my boss from ingles to portuguese. is it ok to use online translators ?
Machine translators are very good at getting the "gist" of a text if you are unfamiliar with the language.

If you need to translate texts in languages you speak and understand, you should avoid using machine translators. In the end it will be just as much work for you.

To help with translating though, I recommend using online dictionaries like http://en.bab.la/dictionary/english-port鈥?/a>

Best of luck!I just started doing rewritings to my boss from ingles to portuguese. is it ok to use online translators ?
Hello Ola!

I wouldn't advise that you do that, Online translators are not any good and often get simple words wrong.

Tem uma bom dia.....

e boa sorte......
no your not allowed!
I agree with Dra Carla.

I'd just add a simple comment:

If this is not your job, don't do it. You know... English speakers can get better opportunities as we have an "extra skill". If your boss wants you to translate stuff, and this is not part of your role, charge for it. Or ask for a pay rise and/or a different role.

If they don't want to pay you the amount you deserve, tell them to find somebody elso to do this kind of stuff. Just say "this is not part of my job - I am sorry".

They will have to choose if they want to pay a full-time employee or give you some extra cash.
