we have to make a dish from the medieval times for a project, and i decided something, and one of the ingredeints is rosewater. where can i get it - cause i do not want to make it.Where can i buy rose water? would they have it at like walmart or ingles or something???

Try middle eastern supermarkets.

I'm Persian and we use rose water in almost every homemade sweet... and I looked all over for it.

And also you have to be careful in which brand name you buy... some taste horrible.

i dont think walmart will have rose water. but i live in a city that has a market call Fresh Market. and they have rose water.

you might check a spice center or Oriental pharmacy.
It depends were your located, here in Canada the WalMarts handle some East Indian product and I have seen it here, other wise, check all the local supermarkets, or if you have Asian or Hispanic markets in your area they carry it for use in desserts and in other food prep.



East Indian and Jamaican stores to, ask for it there are some who many have a Rose Syrup, a reddy coloured rose flavoured syrup, it is a good substittude.



But before you run around looking check you local phone directory, and see the availablity in your area, it is not expensive around $2.00-3.00 for a 10oz bottle.
Indian stores or middle eastern stores always have it. Call some up and ask if they have it. Otherwise, you may have to make it.

I doubt if you can get it from Walmart. Try from a grocery store - Asian food section. If not, you can definitely get it from an Indian Grocery store. Indian Grocery - where Indian / Pakistani eatable stuff is sold.
you should be able to get it at most liquor stores, it is used in a lot of older/traditional cocktails. you may also be able to find it at your local health food stores and co-ops. just call around.
